Requested additions included a guest wing comprising of 3 en-suite bedrooms, living- and dining area with kitchenette, as well as a wetland swimming pool and large deck for outside living.
Due to the existing topography of the site, and to differentiate new from existing, the additions were constructed of cross-laminated timber (CLT) with timber cladding externally, terraced down to connect to the lower garden level and preserve the views from the existing structure above. CLT is generally faster, more precise and environmentally friendly than conventional construction. Internal panels were left exposed to provide a natural finish.
